Help Us Name Our Latest New Room at Lehmann House!
From the beginning, most rooms (20 in all!) had a name (the dining room or the library) or were given a descriptive name so we could tell them apart (the turret room). Some of those descriptive names often evolved into the actual guest room name (The Maids' Room).
This new room, for the last 31 years has been called "The Other Third Floor Room", because it was the only unused bedroom on the third floor. It is another room that somehow missed getting a name since we've had the house. It's also been referred to as "The 8th Room".

When Lehmann lived here, he used it as a sort of second library for his extensive map collection. The large books on the tale were referred to as "plat maps".

For a little inspiration, I've included above, what the room has looked like across time.
Based on a suggestion from one of you, I've included the names of the other rooms and the background behind choosing their names.
Frederick's Room was suggested by a former guest, after Frederick Lehmann, in our first room naming contest, as it is decorated with more of a masculine feel. It's also the exact 3rd floor duplicate of Nora's Room, Mrs. Lehmann, so it seemed fitting.
Judge Sears Room was named after the judge who took young Lehmann in, educated him and help propel this young boy from obscurity into a Supreme Court Judge nominee.
John Stark Room, got it's name by a guest who figured out the room naming pattern. The three Lehmann sons were Sears, Frederick, Jr. and John Stark.
Maids' Room, in a house this size, owned by a prominent family, they would have had servants, either a married couple acting as maid and butler, or two female maids. The room has two closets, so very likely there were two sharing the room.
Nora's Room: Mrs. Lehmann was named Nora, and this was the master suite of the home.
Presidents' Room: Lehmann was politically connected and friends with several presidents. According to the Lehmann family, three presidents had visited Lehmann at his home. He was especially close friends with President Taft.
Worlds' Fair Room: Among Lehmann's many accomplishments, he was on the Board of Director's of the 1904 Worlds' Fair.
