St. Louis, Missouri, is known for the Gateway Arch and its all-star baseball team. However, there are plenty of activities to do in the winter, too!

St. Louis features ice, skating, skiing, and sledding in Forest Park when there’s plenty of snow. Additionally, there are plenty of indoor activities, such as the Art Museum and Magic House. If you’re out and about, check out the holiday lights across town to get the best winter experience.

The question isn’t what there is to do during the winter. It’s how best to spend your time with the wealth of activities available. Let’s look at some of the best activities in St. Louis during the winter.

Steinbergs Skating Rink

Take a trip down to Forest Park and skate to your heart’s content at Steinberg’s Skating Rink, located near the Central West End in St. Louis. Steinbergs is open from mid-November through late February when the weather begins to warm again.

There’s an admission fee with an optional skate rental, and the admission lasts til closing, which is 9:00 pm on weeknights and midnight on the weekends.

Art Hill at Forest Park and The Art Museum

If you have time, check out the other attractions in Forest Park, especially Art Hill and the Art Museum.
The St. Louis Art Museum is located at the top of a massive hill overlooking Forest Park and the Grand Basin. The best part about this hill is that it’s perfect for sledding.

Take some trips down the hill or consider visiting the St. Louis Art Museum (SLAM) to view some of the best artwork in the world for only $15 a ticket.

Additionally, SLAM is located close to both the Delmar Loop and the Central West End, giving you plenty of options for nighttime dining and entertainment.
