St. Louis Blues Announce Their 2023-2024 Season

As the chilly winds of autumn sweep through the Gateway City, there's an electric buzz in the air that can only mean one thing, baseball is almost finished and the hockey season is upon us.

The St. Louis Blues, a franchise steeped in history and tradition, are gearing up to take to the ice again following an unforgettable 2022-23 campaign. With memories of last season's highs and lows still fresh, Blues fans eagerly await the puck drop on a new chapter.

For those interested in the Blues' upcoming season, this article will delve into everything about the 2023-24 season, including the official start, playoff chances, and predictions for the 2024 Stanley Cup.

Key Dates For the Blues’ 2023-24 Season

The Blues have already begun warming up for the 2023-2024 season with preseason games against Arizona, Columbus, Chicago, and Dallas. The preseason started on Saturday, September 23rd, and will last until Saturday, October 7th.

While these games are essentially practice sessions for the team, they are worth a watch, with tickets as low as $2 for upper-level seats and less than $20 for the lower levels.

Regular Season

The regular season will occur on October 12th with a 7:00 pm game against the Dallas Stars at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. This game will begin their pathway to hockey domination and securing the 2024 Stanley Cup.

For St. Louis residents and visitors, the following three games will be hosted in downtown St. Louis at the Enterprise Center. These games include the following:

  • Seattle Krakens at 8 pm on October 14th
  • Arizona Coyotes at 8 pm on October 19th
  • Pittsburgh Penguins at 8 pm on October 21st

The remainder of the games will occur between October 2023 and April 2024, with the final match on April 17th, 2024.

The playoffs are expected to begin on April 18th with the conclusion of the regular season and continue until the beginning of June, when the Stanley Cup Finals begin.

St. Louis Blues Chances for the 2024 Stanley Cup

While the St. Louis Blues had a disappointing season in 2022-23, finishing sixth in the Central Division and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2018, they are poised for a significant turnaround this season.

Historically, St. Louis has had outstanding success making it to the playoffs and less success achieving a win. That is, until 2019, when the Blues earned their first Stanley Cup and made St. Louis history.

Since then, the Blues have been recovering from significant team losses, notably Tarasenko and Mikkola to the New York Rangers, but with a fresh team, they are ready for a strong comeback.

Additionally, with the trades made in the 2023 season, the Blues have the 9th overall pick in the 2023 draft and have young talent to aid their rise to the top.

Despite this, as a fresh team, they face notable disadvantages, including unfortunate injuries and the need for seasoned veterans to handle the fierce talent other teams will bring. While the odds are against the Blues this season, they are still poised for a strong comeback in the months to come.
