Help Us Name Our Latest New Room at Lehmann House!

From the beginning, most rooms (20 in all!) had a name (the dining room or library) or were given a descriptive name so we could tell them apart (the turret room). Some of those descriptive names often evolved into the actual guest room name (the Maids' Room or the Map Room).

This new room, for the last 26 years has been called "The Boys Room", because my three sons called this their room since 1993. It is another room that somehow missed getting a name since we've had the house. This past weekend--we've already had our first guests!--it's been known as "The 7th Room". We'd like something more creative, more fitting! We'd like to know what YOU think!

Can you help us name this room, too? I hope so! You've been so helpful the last two times. AND, we've already opened it!

If you have a suggestion--or two or three or more, simply click the button below. But don't wait too long--the contest will close on September 15, 2019!

For a little inspiration, I've included below, what the room looked like when the Lehmann's lived here and what it looks like now . . .

Based on a suggestion from one of you, I'll include the names of the other rooms and the background behind choosing their names.

Frederick's Room: suggested by a former guest, after Frederick Lehmann, in our first room naming contest, as it is decorated with more of a masculine feel. It's also the exact 3rd floor duplicate of Nora's Room--it seemed fitting.

Judge Sears Room (last year's winning name) was named after the judge who took young Lehmann in, educated him and help propel this young boy from obscurity into a Supreme Court Judge nominee.

Maids' Room: a house this size owned by a prominent family, they would have had servants, either a married couple acting as maid and butler, or two female maids. The room has two closets, so very likely there were two sharing the room.

Nora's Room: Mrs. Lehmann was named Nora, and this was the master suite of the home.

Presidents' Room: Lehmann was politically connected and friends with several presidents. According to the Lehmann family, three presidents had visited Lehmann at his home. He was especially close friends with President Taft.

Worlds' Fair Room: Among Lehmann's many accomplishments, he was on the Board of Director's of the 1904 Worlds' Fair.
