Becoming Jane: The Evolution of Dr. Jane Goodall is now at the St. Louis Science Center for a limited time.

The exhibit covers Jane Goodall’s life as a pioneer, scientist, and activist through several exhibition showcases at the St. Louis Science Center. Visitors can visit Tanzania’s Gombe Stream National Park, meet and learn about its famous chimpanzees, and experience a life-sized hologram of Jane Goodall.

Where is the Becoming Jane Exhibit?

The Becoming Jane exhibit is located in the Oakland Building of the St. Louis Science Center, on Oakland ave., across I-64 from Forest Park. The Science Center is just three miles away from accommodations at Lehmann House Bed & Breakfast in Lafayette Square.

The entire Science Center is wheelchair accessible and accommodates all disabilities.

Once you arrive, parking costs $15 through Labor Day and $12 after Labor Day through December 31, 2023. Parking is free for members.

How Much are Tickets to the Exhibit?

Pricing for the exhibit is as follows:

  • $14.95 for adults
  • $12.95 for children and seniors
  • $10.95 for members
  • Free for children aged 4 and under

You can purchase tickets on the St. Louis Science Center website. Do note that the Science Center is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

What’s Included with the Exhibit?

The Becoming Jane exhibit has many exciting features to keep the whole family engaged, informed, and entertained.

The exhibit focuses on Jane Goodall’s life work and highlights advances she made in the scientific and humanitarian fields.

Some of the attractions to expect at the exhibit include:

  • A life-sized hologram of Dr. Goodall with which you can interact.
  • A riveting projection of Tanzania’s Gombe Stream National park.
  • Interactive activities to learn about chimpanzees and their behavior.
  • A complete replica of Jane Goodall’s research tent.

The exhibit takes about 45-60 minutes to complete. Children are welcome, although there is a requirement of one adult per every ten children, and children must be accompanied at all times.

No food or drink is allowed, and flash photography is prohibited. However, the Science Center encourages cell phone pictures and any media that does not use flash photography.
