The Lehmann House

Bed & Breakfast

Our Rooms

All of our guest rooms are located on the second and third floors, in keeping with the original floor plan of the house.  Hence, we regret that we are not able to fulfill requests for first floor accommodations at this time.  We currently have four guests rooms, all with private bath.  For leisure apart from the guest rooms, you may enjoy a quiet book in the library, some music, a bit of TV in the parlor, or a quiet cup of tea on the front porch. The porch can also accommodate anyone wishing to smoke, as smoking indoors is strictly prohibited. Anyone who should choose to indulge in an indoor smoke may be subject to an additional charge up to one half the room rate.  Weather permitting, you can enjoy that refreshing stroll through our garden as well as the nearby park.

The President's Room  During Fredrick Lehmann's political career, he was reputed to have entertained three different presidents. Lehmann's personal correspondence supports this at least in part.  This expansive guest room, with its golden maple flooring, gently wakes guests in the morning with the warmth of the sun pouring in from the east.  And in the evening, with its western view, treats you with a scene of the setting sun. Adjoining the President's room is a sprawling, marble tiled private bath, authentically restored with many of its original features. This room can sleep up to three. $149.00

The Map Room  This room was originally used to display Lehmann's vast map collection.  Located on the Third floor, one has the feeling of being nestled in the tree tops.  The unique features of this room include a Frank Lloyd Wright style gas fireplace, golden maple hardwood flooring and an antique carved mahogany four-poster bed.  The adjoining bathroom was artfully created from the former walk-in cedar closet. This room can sleep up to four. $125.00

The World's Fair Room Lehmann was on the Board of Directors of the 1904 World's Fair. This room was named to honor that distinguished position in St. Louis history. Originally, this room was a guest room, now with its own Victorian designed private adjoining bath created from a former walk-in closet. $125.00

The Maid's Room The Lehmann's had both day help and live-in help, two such servants being housed in the Maids' Room, in the servants' wing of the house. In keeping with the status of hired help of the time, the Maids' Room is arranged simply, with a period, 1890's bedroom suite, a patchwork quilt, and simple, family portraits on the walls. A full bathroom, situated next to and dedicated to the Maids' Room serves as its private bath. $99.00
